Opportunity:  In Partnership with the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM), the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) will be releasing the Medicaid Technical Assistance and Policy Program (MEDTAPP) Improving Care Transitions for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Graduates (NICU Graduates) Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Quality Improvement Vendor. This Quality Improvement initiative seeks to create a family-centered care approach that seamlessly integrates the transition from NICU to home care to promote the well-being of newborns and families. USC Lean and Six Sigma courses being offered in October

Lean and Six Sigma in healthcare has become quite common but practitioners generally focus on a few basic tools. These are certainly useful but there are additional powerful tools that you should also be able to use. The HCD developed the “Marshall Plan” to show what can and will be done when process improvement and quality management professionals are given the chance to prove themselves and their worth as important members of the health care team.
