HCD Audit Committee Member

 Position Description

 Purpose and Duties Of The Committee

Conducts and reports on to HCD Leadership Council (HCDLC) comprehensive, objective review of the ASQ HCD’s programmatic activities and financial management. Establishes enforceable internal controls for identifiable risks in re: HCD operations.

 Term

One year. July 1 to June 30.  

 Specific Duties and Responsibilities of HCD Audit Committee Member

  • Assists Audit Committee Leadership in the performance of the following tasks and duties:
    • setting goals/metrics to support the division’s management process as it relates to auditing responsibilities.
    • reporting to HCDLC the status of HCDLC activities vis a vis the goals/metric set for those activities, i.e. complete vs incomplete, good/bad excellent, etc.
    • working with HCD Treasurer to audit division books on a quarterly basis (recommended).
    • working with HCD Treasurer to audit division books at the end of the fiscal year, including financial records and accounts, receipts and disbursements, etc. (required).
    • recommending necessary improvements to internal control elements.
    • assisting with preparation of budget estimates for the next fiscal year.
    • requesting required materials from the division chair or treasurer and reconcile records.
    • coordinating annually (in JULY) the audit of the records with the HCD Treasurer.
    • completing Divsional Audit and submitting to ASQ by August 15.
  • Attends HCD Audit Committee meetings.
  • Upholds Society Bylaws, Policies and Procedures, and Division Management Agreement.

 Qualifications

  • Must be a member in good standing of ASQ and of the HCD.
  • Must have a basic understanding of budgeting and accounting principles

 Time Commitment

Approximately 1-2 hours per month.
