Title Tailoring Innovation to Lessen Resistance
Author(s) Jenifer Barr
Topic Change Management
Abstract People don’t like change and routinely resist it. How to recognize and address this resistance in ways that benefit the program and the organization’s management program are discussed. For an improvement effort to succeed, leadership must listen to the often valid reasons for resistance and deal with them in the proper manner. By doing so, the process improvement effort transitions itself to better meet the needs of the organization and the people in it. Innovative techniques for managing change include timing, automating, streamlining to allow for flexibility, and offering rewards.
