Abstract A few years ago the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD), which provides maintenance, repair, and overhaul of the Air Force Pave Hawk helicopter, was in danger of losing the contract because of problems with turnaround time and cost overruns. CCAD’s leadership began an aggressive program based on Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9000- focused quality management to address the issues of quality, cost, delivery, and process improvement. The efforts of the Lean Six Sigma team resulted in rapid and quantifiable improvements in the Pave Hawk line. Turnaround time and cost overruns have decreased markedly while on-time delivery has increased.
