Abstract An organization considering undergoing a significant change should have a clear understanding of its culture, since culture influences the creation of the group’s vision and the strategy for its execution. Culture drives leadership behavior and expectations as well. Just as each organization must develop its own leadership principles and quality system based on its culture, quality must move beyond program status and become part of that culture. Success becomes more likely when culture, vision, leadership expectations, and quality systems are aligned. A sidebar article compares the relationship among leadership, quality, and learning to three sides of the same coin.
