Performance Improvement

Abstract Even in a rapidly changing environment, lean principles are well designed to speed improvement. Although system planning is required for long-term improvement, individual tasks can be performed quickly when supported by a solid infrastructure of resources and policy. The modular kaizen approach contains the same DMAIC process as traditional kaizen, but the improvement project is planned along a timeline that recognizes the volatile nature of the core business process. Modular kaizen is structured to take advantage of an assessment of the eight wastes during process improvement activities. Once the restructured organization stabilizes, more advanced quality improvement projects can be used to achieve even greater performance improvement.
