Abstract Process improvement projects typically alter workflow and deployment of labor to create a more efficient process, but employees are often left to their own devices to adapt to the new conditions. A well designed training program can help ease the transition and explain the new work arrangements. Because people learn in different ways, training should have sensitivity and tolerance to different learning styles. Choosing which training methods work best in a particular situation depends on participant knowledge, skill, attitude, and time available for instruction.
