Qualities of Customer-Focused Organizations

Abstract The spirit of a team is a key feature in high-performance teams. Working together in a spirited way, interdependent teams inspire more imaginative responses to challenges confronting organizations. To realize the possibility of high-performing teams, however, a shift in awareness, values, and the view of how teams work is required. Six qualities characterize the spirit operating in teams. The critical sixth integrating component, service, links the other five phases. An exercise helps team members explore the meaning of service and can be used to re-energize team spirit.
