Newsletter VISION (100 WORDS OR LESS):    To provide HCD members and members of ASQ’s healthcare community with valuable and timely information on best practices related to performance excellence within healthcare. [Thought about adding something which specifically links our newletter vision to the bigger vision of either reducing waste and/or enabling and educating quality champions.  Also realizing that timeliness is one of the assets of the newletter as an educational vehicle, serving as a nice adjunct to books and traing programs in that regard]

Newsletter MISSION (100 WORDS OR LESS): To plan and produce the HCD newsletter that is relevant and adds perceived value to members and prospects.

Newsletter GOALS FOR 2010-2011(MAX OF 3):          

1)      Transition from print to electronic format and avoid the “Quality Digest syndrome” of loss of readership and relevance.

2)      Gradually bring content in line with QBOK for healthcare, as part of overall mission to educate quality champions on these topics

 

Newsletter OBJECTIVES FOR 2010-2011(MAX OF 3 PER EACH GOAL):

            GOAL #1: Integrate HCD materials within existing ASQ Healthcare Newsletter

            GOAL #2: Dramatically improve the look and feel of the electronic newsletter that is distributed to all HCD members

            GOAL #3: Develop a publication strategy in line with supporting other HCD strategic objectives initiatives (e.g., Supporting campaign for healthcare quality champions to save $X Billions in waste over the next Y years)

DESCRIPTION OF EACH CTG ACTION STEP REQUIRED TO MEET EACH OBJECTIVE INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING DATA – Goal 1 and 2:

  •          Responsible Parties – Collaborative effort between ASQ HC Market Management and Editorial Management and HCD Newsletter Committee
  •          Resources Required – IT Web programming
  •          Process/Project Flow with Time Frames Set by HQ
  •          Deliverable(s) – New look and feel for electronic newsletter/Consistent high quality content
  •          Metric(s) For Success (How will we know we have won?) Dollars of waste saved or prevented.
  •          Performance Against Metrics – TBD quarterly
