You are invited to our Annual Membership Meeting on Sunday May 20 at 1PM PDT

Dear Healthcare Division Member:

Thanks for your continued membership in the ASQ Healthcare Division (HCD). Your support and active participation is much appreciated!

I am writing today to inform and/or remind you that the HCD is having our Annual Membership Meeting on Sunday, May 20 at 1PM PDT (2PM MDT, 3PM CDT, and 4PM EDT).

If you will be with us in Anaheim for the QIHC, the meeting will be in the Laguna AB Room. If you can’t be at the meeting but would still like to participate in the meeting to hear the Committee and Task Group reports and the Officers’ Reports and learn about the plans for this next year (and how you can participate), you can call in to the meeting via the following conference code line:

866-699-3239 Pin: 20705918

The meeting should last about 90 minutes and will offer the opportunity for you as a prime customer of the Division to ask questions, make suggestions, and otherwise contribute. Your opinions as members are critical to the success of the Division.

The agenda for the meeting will be as follows:

  1. Introductions
  2. Approval of the Agenda
  3. Officer Reports (Chair, Chair-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer)
  4. Committee and Task Group Reports
  5. Old Business
  6. New Business
  7. Adjournment

To assist you in preparing for the annual meeting, the written reports of the Committees, and Task Groups are posted on the new HCD website (http://www.asqhcd.org/). Once there you can click on the “About the Division” tab at the top of the Home screen and then on “Committee Reports” to access the committee and task group reports menu item.

Please let me know by return email if you have any questions or suggestions.

If you will be in Anaheim for the QIHC and/or if you live in the SoCal area, while on the HCD website, you may also wish to click on the “Events” tab at the top of the Home Page (http://www.asqhcd.org/) and then on “Upcoming Events” to learn about the two other special events in Anaheim that are being hosted jointly by the Quality Management Division and the Healthcare Division for the members of these two Divisions.

These events are

  1. The First Annual Health Leaders Lecture that will be given by Robert L. Jesse, MD, PhD on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 6PM PDT in the California Ballroom at the Anaheim Hilton, and
  2. A Wine and Cheese tasting party including a presentation on wines and cheeses by HCD member and trained sommelier, Graciela de Luan Perez, PhD. This event will be held in the same location as Dr. Jesse’s lecture immediately following his lecture.

Prior to Dr. Jesse’s lecture we will also be awarding the Nightingale Scholarship for 2012 to Winnie MacGregor, whose essay earned her a $2,000 scholarship to help her complete her graduate studies. Winnie is a member of the HCD and works in the Kaiser Permanente system.

Thanks again for your membership and support!

We look forward to seeing you in Anaheim!

Warm regards,

 Joe
